First, you’ll brown the roast on all sides in a skillet before placing it in the slow cooker. Then you’ll cook down the veggies in the skillet and add some tomato paste for a true Tuscan-style dish. Finally, wine is poured into the skillet to loosen up all the browned bits from the pan. The slow cooker does the rest. Serve with some egg noodles and a simple salad for a complete dinner.
