Point being, I’m a true Urban Decay loyalist. I’ve even been using the same color eyeliner (smog if you’re wondering) since high school too. And with every new palette launch within the Naked Collection, there have been some pretty high expectations to live up to. ICYMI, the original Naked Eyeshadow Palette may have died, but the Naked Collection is still growing strong—its newest addition being Naked x Robin Eisenberg ($54; urbandecay.com). It’s the first Naked palette that was done as a collaboration; the brand teamed up with Robin Eisenberg, an LA-based artist serving major galactic gamer girl vibes within her art. In true Naked palette fashion, it features 12 shades (seven shimmery and five matte) and a dual-ended brush. First impression when compared to the legacy Naked palettes: It’s certainly the most colorful Naked collection to date. The colors range from neutral and burgundy tones inspired by California sunsets to cool, deep purples and blues inspired by Robin’s signature celestial colors found in her artwork. The best part of this palette is that it takes everything we know and love about Urban Decay neutrals and blends it with the grungier, darker side of the brand’s personality. My favorite shades are the light terracotta called “Solar Storm” (for something neutral), and the pool blue called “Home Planet” (if you’re looking for a bit of edge). The colors remind me of my two favorite Sky Wash colors from Glossier, which I’ve since moved to the back of my makeup collection after snagging these very pigmented powder shadows. Similar to the other Naked palettes, I find that you don’t need an eyeshadow primer with these as they have a 12-hour wear time. That being said, if you are heading out for a long night or sporting an entire glitter look, I would recommend the brand’s Primer Potion ($25; sephora.com) to prevent fallout. Overall, I love how surprisingly multi-purpose the hues are. I normally never stray too far from neutrals, but even the “intergalactic” colors are more wearable and don’t look too intimidating when swiped on your lids.
